Missouri Helping Missouri
Showme Scholarship Challenge Match 2.0 – we met the challenge!
Your gifts were doubled!
Thanks to the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), your new, increased or re-instated gift will be matched!
The power of an independent higher education goes beyond academic excellence. We know that teaching occurs by faculty, it develops critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, and communication skills while emphasizing values and ethics, self-discipline, and responsibility. It makes a difference
In today’s economy it is extremely difficult for many young Missourians graduating from high school to find a way to pay for a college education, especially those from working-class families who simply cannot afford to provide much assistance. In a recent report from the Missouri Dept of Higher Education and Workforce Development, the
gap between financial aid and college costs continues to widen. That is why we need your help.
Presidents of independent colleges and universities have made it clear that one of their highest priority needs is additional scholarship aid for deserving students. A second identified need is for scholarships that can improve student retention beyond the first year. This grant addresses both concerns.
The Missouri Colleges Fund (MCF) is a group of sixteen independent colleges and universities in Missouri with enrollments totaling nearly 70,000 students. Most of these students are from Missouri and upon graduation will stay in Missouri to work and raise a family. The mission of the MCF is to fund scholarships for students in member independent liberal-arts colleges and universities.
The CIC will match any new, increased, or re-instated gift received between now and Sept 30, 2024. Our goal is to raise $25,000 and their match of $25,000 will generate $50,000 in added support for our scholarship program. We met our stretch goal and raised$35,000.
Grateful: First to the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) for their commitment to help us grow scholarships in Missouri. MCF met their challenge grant and received a $25,000 matching grant!
